Speak Your Mind About Drilling

By: Joe Minott, Clean Air Council Executive Director

Last month, the natural gas industry’s trade association argued that the public interest has no business being involved in oil and gas rulemaking. As long as the public needs to breathe the air in Pennsylvania, we disagree!

The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is seeking public input on revisions to our oil and gas regulations. If you want the state to make our health and well-being a priority by reducing toxic air pollution and curbing emissions of climate-warming gases, please attend one of the upcoming public hearings and express your support for strong drilling rules.

You must register in advance to provide public testimony by calling (717) 783-8727. The hearings are from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the following locations:

April 29
Washington and Jefferson College
Rossin Campus Center, Allen Ballroom
60 S. Lincoln Street
Washington, PA 15301

April 30
Warren County Courthouse
204 4th Avenue
Warren, PA 16365

May 4
Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Klump Academic Center
1 College Avenue
Williamsport, PA 17701

To get more information about strong rules for fighting air pollution, sign up for the Clean Air Council’s webinar on Tuesday at 8:00 PM.
